Alright, so I know all you out there have been waiting for some new stuff from me to listen to. This is from when Jenn, Ryan, and I went to the Pass about two weeks ago, January 31. The first file I think sounds like a chirp, could have been a bird, but what birds would be making noise that late at night. The second, which at first I thought could be my recorder rubbing against my clothes, but I tried to recreate the sound and was unable to reproduce it. It sounds almost evil, hehe. The third and forth clips are what to me sounded like a young kid or female voice whispering something. I’m not quite sure exactly what it could be saying and I’m sure its not any of us. I tried to amplify the section to determine the words but was still unable to figure it out. This will probably be the only potential evidence from our trip. I would appreciate any feedback you might have on the clips I’ve provided. We should be going on another investigation next weekend, so stay tuned!

So it has been a while since I’ve posted something new. The team has had some trouble finding time getting together with school work and personal lives (other members not me :P). Well now that we have hopefully gotten back on track since school is winding down for us all, I should have more to post and the video series will be up and running in no time. Ok, let’s get down the recordings. First one was what sounded like a car horn honking, which is completely normal except for the fact it just seemed out of place. It probably isn’t paranormal or anything just thought it was interesting. Number two, it was just me and Jenn sitting up by the monument while Ryan and Paige were down in the field. I think it sounded like a canon shot or other firearm. Three, still just me and Jenn at the monument. To me, this sounded like someone saying “Theres something” quickly. Next, the whole team went down a path to one side of the monument that Jenn said she had a “bad” feeling about. The path lead to a little grave dedicated to all unknown soldiers from the battle there. This one sounds like someone clearing thier throat moments before Ryan asking some someone said anything. Moving on, this is all of us again but standing by the monument after we visited the unknown grave. I believe that is sounds like whistling off in the woods. Next one, I believe this is just me and Jenn again at the monument. First it that familiar whistle we always hear when we’re there, followed by what sounds like a thud way off in the woods. Finally, all of us standin at the monument after the unknown gravesite. Simply put, a group of people screaming through the woods very close by to us. We went to investigate the area we heard it coming from and found no signs of life anywhere. That is all the significant recordings I aquired while at Cheatham Hill Battlefield. Let me know what you think and if I missed any sounds in the recordings.

I found this interesting article a while ago that I felt was appropriate to share on our blog. This is from Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield in Kennesaw, GA (a few miles from haunted Cheatham Hill Battlefield in Kennesaw). A man and his son were driving down the road one night around the mountain when a man on horseback ran across the road directly infront of him, which they believe to be a Civil War ghost.

One Cobb County, Georgia man says that he had a brush with what may have been a real ghost near Kennesaw Mountain earlier this month.

The man, who doesn’t want to be identified, said he and his teenage son were driving through Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield the night of October 8 when they spotted something about to cross the road in front of their car.

Both Civil More..War buffs, they say the rider appeared to be a Union Army cavalry officer complete with a saber in his hand.

This is neat because it puts some belief in what we observe at the Allatoona Battlefield Pass. I hope to investigate the site sometime but I hear it’s extremely difficult to get permission to, let alone sneak in.

Reported to be one of the most haunted battlefields in the Atlanta area, Cheatham Hill Battlefield/Kennesaw Battlefield has been known for strange EVPs and ghostly photographs taken both during the day and through the night. The Illinois Monument, located at the top of Cheatham Hill has been reported to be the most active location at the battlefield. This makes sense as feet directly in front of the monument is the exact spot where most of the soldiers were killed in the battle. Could the strange experiences at Cheatham Hill be the ghosts of civil war soldiers residualing haunting the grounds in which they were killed?

To the south of Pigeon Hill lies land that gently slopes uphill from the Union positions. Johnston assigns two of his best commanders to defend the area. Both Benjamin Franklin Cheatham and Patrick Cleburne command men who are battle tested, hardened to a fine edge. Supported by an intricate web of earthworks and entanglements, these veterans see the hardest fighting of the day. To the west Union Generals Jefferson C. Davis and John Newton form behind Thomas’ line. The plan is to rush the Confederates en masse, hopefully breaking through and routing the boys in gray.

Entering Cheatham Hill was a difficult task… Not only did we have to walk a trail through the woods in the middle of night, but it was difficult to make out most of the trail. At first we followed the wrong path leading us in the wrong direction. It was quite neat, however, to see the glowing eyes of deer roaming the open fields to the west of Cheatham Hill. After about a mile walk through the open fields of deer and a dirt road into the woods we came to the conclusion we were marching down a trail to nowhere. We decided to turn around make to the spot we started and found the correct trail.

Upon entering the woods on the trail I had my most terrifying experience witnessing a bat/bird take off directly from the right of my leg into the sky starling me the most (as I was near the creature). After a 5 minute hike through the woods we reach our destination: Cheatham Hill Battlefield.

We walked to the top of the hill near the Illinois monument and snapped many photos of the battlefield directly in front of us. I did get a lot of oddly colored “orbs” appearing directly in front of us in our photos. Please be aware the temperature was in the 30’s so I am not sure how many bugs were in the air around us. The photos from Cheatham Hill Battlefield are displayed below…

Multi-Colored Balls of Light "Orbs" Around the Illinois Monument at Cheatham Hill Battlefield in Kennesaw, Georgia

We did not stay very long at Cheatham Hill Battlefield, however, we did have one experience that we could not explain. While standing quietly near the Illinois Monument Jennifer and Emma both experienced whispering coming from the left side of the monument. I stood quietly on the right side of the monument and began hearing a “rustling” in my right ear which I could not tell if it was the leafs in the tree due to the wind it clearly did sound like whispering. At this point we called it a night and headed back through the woods to the car. I’m quite sure Cheatham Hill Battlefield in Kennesaw, Georgia has it’s share of haunted activity which makes us all the more anxious to return soon!

Below are a couple of links I thought were interesting about the paranormal experiences at Cheatham Hill Battlefield, besure to check them out!

I don’t always believe that orbs appearing in photos at haunted locations are in fact paranormal as they can be explained by a lot of different things such as dust. However, a trip to Marietta Confederate Cemetery/Old Marietta City Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia one cold night proves otherwise, in my opinion. I’m not saying these photos I’ve taken are definitely ghosts haunting an old cemetery in Marietta, but they are definitely something I cannot explain. Could this confederate cemetery in historic Marietta, Georgia be a haunted cemetery housing the ghosts of civil war soldiers and slaves?

Aside from the orb photos taken at the Marietta Confederate Cemetery I also shot a photo of what appears to be mist flowing from a gated family grave. I’m not sure wether or not this could be a form of ectoplasm. Temperatures were in the 30’s that night.

EVPs by Andy

Marietta Cemetery EVP: “Everywhere”

I recorded exactly 1 hour and 23 minutes at Marietta City Cemetery. Unfortunately the cemetery was right next to train tracks and a fairly busy road so at many points it was hard to even hear myself talking. There was really no way around this since the train runs non-stop. However I was able to catch this sound when Jenn and I were walking through the area of unknown graves near the Confederate part of the cemetery. She ask where the unknown grave are and after a few seconds a reply comes back that sounds like everywhere. At first I thought it could be me whispering it, but I don’t think I would have waited that long to reply to her. Thats was the only sound I caught that could no be explained. But, as I said, there was the almost constant sound of cars and/or train run plus it was pretty windy. There could have been other sounds but it would have been near impossible for me with my equipment to pick out from the extremely loud background noises. One thing I would like to note, though it has nothing to do with EVPs, was that the moment we stepped into the cemetery I felt a very distinct temperature change. I noticed it when Ryan and I explored it earlier that day and Emma noticed when we came later that night and I hadn’t metioned it to her before hand. That will be all for a while from me since we won’t be heading out until after New Years Day. I would like to wish everyone who visits this blog a very Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukkah, Happy New Years, and whatever else you may celebrate during this time!

This entry is part 3 of 3 in the series Roswell

We made our way back out to Roswell, Georgia to check out the flickering lights at the supposedly haunted Bulloch Hall. As odd as it was when the lights turned off and on as we entered the property and left we came to discover last night the lights were in fact timed and not paranormal. We noted that the lights turned off every 6 1/2 minutes for 2 seconds and would turn back on. We also observed this with the street lights in the parking lot and the lights at a haunted confederate cemetery in Marietta, Georgia. If you watch the second video on the Bulloch Hall lights you will note that the video is over 5 minutes in length (lights turned off at the end). This video was recorded seconds after the lights turned off. That means that the lights turned off around 6 minutes later.

Although the lights appeared to be timed we had no explanation for why the lights didn’t go off 2 weeks ago when we sat on the front porch for about 20-30 minutes. Last night, however, while near the porch the lights did in fact go off every 6 minutes.

As the legend goes… A young girl (around age 14) fell down the well in the backyard and is believed to haunt the property. People have also reported seeing a family in the front yard watching them as they walk by the property. As we brought Emma to the hall she kept “sensing” something paranormal in the yard to the right of the museum. After checking out the spot she was constantly pointed at… wala! we discovered the well that was supposedly in the backyard.

A wierd occurence that has happened quite frequently when we visit the hall are loud “thumps” coming from Bulloch Hall. Also, noises are heard quite frequently around the property, I heard a lot of “squeaks” near the well area when Emma reported hearing a little girl screaming. I’m awaiting to hear Andrew’s EVPs for further analysis of this.

Haunted or not, this is an awesome place to check out late at night.

Like I said bringing my lab top home to try and get work done wasn’t that great of an idea, not much work getting done. I promise either tomorrow night or monday I will post the rest, if any, EVPs I catch.

After several hours investigating other locations we decided to head out to one of our favorite locations: the small town of Roswell, Georgia. We love Roswell and the stories of the ghosts haunting the old Roswell mill ruins and the legends of Bulloch Hall involving a young girl haunting the property. We decided to first head out to Bulloch Hall and investigate the porch lights (which have been known to turn off and on when entering and leaving the property).

For an accurate history on Bulloch Hall in Roswell, click here

History tells of slaves working at the hall during the 1800’s. The legend is that a young African girl around age 14 fell down the well in the backyard and died. Tour guides on the ghost tour and people who have gone up to the house have heard and some seen a young African ghost girl crying in the yard of Bulloch Hall. While the hall is now a museum, people have reported seeing the attic light on (we have witnessed these) after hours as well as the front porch lights flickering on and off (we have witnessed also).

Bulloch Hall is located off the square in downtown Roswell, Georgia. As we walked the road and approached the hall we weren’t disappointed when the lights turned off… and back on before we even entered the driveway. We walked up to the porch of the mansion and took pictures of the windows and porch trying to find some sort of paranormal activity. Employees have reported the chairs rocking on the porch when no wind is present, curtains in the windows moving, and lights in the mansion turning off and on. We were all alarmed when noticing something moving in the top left window… After starring for about 5 minutes we realized it was some sort of decoration rotating.

After about 20 minutes at Bulloch Hall we decided to leave the property. We all walked towards the driveway backwards to observe the lights turning off and to our surprise the lights turned off before we left the property. While standing in the road we decided to needed to get the footage on tape so I pulled out my digital camera turned on the video feature and decided to record two videos.

Below are the last two videos recording the lights at Bulloch Hall. In video 1 you will want to watch the entire video as I noted a weird shadowy figure runs directly in front of the tree VERY QUICKLY about a second after the light shuts off (don’t confuse this with Andrew’s head moving slowly). Could this be the ghost of the young girl who fell down the well and haunts the property?

I cannot guarantee the lights are not rigged, however, I can tell that the lights first went off before we even entered the property. The lights never went off the entire 20 minutes of being on the porch and they turned off before we stepped into the road when leaving. In video 2 you will see that one time we were unsuccessful in getting the lights to turn off when we walked half way up the driveway.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Although we did not have many other experiences at the Roswell Founder’s Cemetery and the “Creepy House”. We did get a strange picture at the Old Roswell Mill Ruins.

You will probably need to click the image to view full size in order to see the object at the bottom

The details also resemble a man wearing civil war era clothing and a hat standing somewhere near the mill. The image is entirely dark and this is the only thing caught on the camera. The picture was taken a minute after I took pictures of the Roswell mill and before I took pictures behind us in the woods. I cannot tell where this came from (near the mill or the woods) but I could not find any object producing this shape. I’d love to hear your opinions…

For now we rest with our families for the holiday and get ready for our next journey to the Cheatham Hill Battlefield in Kennesaw, Georgia shortly. More information and Andy’s EVPs to come soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Rather than me tell you what I’m hearing, you let me know what you hear and I’ll tell you if thats what I heard in the first place. I’d rather not just come out and say what each one is since that may cause you to believe you’re hearing something that just isn’t that. I won’t taint your mind with my words just yet. This is sort of an experiment for me to see which is the best way to present the EVP’s I. Therefore, next time I may just let you know what I heard or which ever way I find to be the best. Plus this is my attempt at getting people to comment here and not just glace by.
